Happy Spring!

It may be springtime, but our crafters are busy working away already for our big show in less than 8 months!  Our show for 2013 will be held November 1st and 2nd.  We had a meeting last evening, and we are happy to welcome some wonderful basketmakers to our group!  You'll love what they make! At our show this past year, we accepted credit cards for the first time, and boy did that go over well!  You'll be happy to know that we plan to continue to accept Visa and MasterCard at our show this year too! Don't forget to check out the links that several of our crafters have listed in their artist descriptions.  Many of them have blogs, websites, or sell on Etsy, and their products can be purchased year-round! Watch for future updates as we add new members during the course of the year.  See you in November!

Just four days left until show time!

This is my first year with Crafts Unlimited. I make handmade soaps, lotions, body wash, soy tarts (wax melts), scented sachets, and flavored lip balms. I have been doing arts and crafts since my childhood. In 2006 I took an Aromatherapy class and got hooked on it. I began making scented soaps and lotions for friends and family as gifts. I really enjoyed combining both my love for art and scent together in my products. In 2009 I was laid off from my job, and was encouraged by friends and family to open an Etsy store and begin selling my products. What I thought was a terrible thing turned into a great opportunity for me. Now I make a living doing what I love. I believe the love of my craft shows in my products, and I hope everyone enjoys using them as much as I love making them :) Click here to visit my Etsy site!

Products: antiques, spoon bracelets and earrings, magnetic wine glass charms, magnetic memo boards, Christmas cards, chenille scarves, picture frames Hi-I'm Laura Generaux and I live in the beautiful hills of the Fern Prairie area with my husband of 12 years, Dave. We garden, have chickens and two koi ponds.  This will be my first year of raising pond plants and koi that I will sell this next spring as we are currently building a greenhouse. This will also be my first year at Crafts Unlimited! I started crafting at a very young age as my mother, grandmothers and aunts were all crafters.  I learned to knit, crochete and embroider. One of my fondest memories is of going to my great aunt Betty's house at Christmas time to make home made Christmas cards.  She always had lots of cool things to use including the basics of glitter, stencils and markers! I have turned that love of making Christmas cards into re-using vintage cards and post cards to make new.  Each card is ma...

My name is Penny Langland. I have been with Crafts Unlimited for over four years. I have been a Decorative Artist for over 20 years. I paint on various types of media, such as wood, masonite and tin. I generally paint wood pieces that are small trunks, jewelry boxes, trays, trays and pieces that may be hung on the wall or displayed on table stands. Most recently, my scenes include traditional New England small towns, still life, small boxes for a wine bottle, pitchers, fruit, Christmas decorations, and bird houses. My preferred paints are acrylic and Genesis oil. I am a member of the Decorative Artists Society and regularly attend state, regional and some national painting conventions.

This will be the second year that I am with Crafts Unlimited.  I make knitted hats for children and knitted animals, including  penguins, dinosaurs, baby worm with bell and kiwi birds. When my children had their children, I started to knit things for them.  I had learned to knit from my grandmother but had not really done much with it.  When I started knitting, I found that I enjoyed creating knitted items.  My friends encouraged me to continue the craft and extend my skills.  Knitting has become a pleasure for me.  I enjoy tackling challenges as I meet them.
